3. RaRa Look 1
These tutorials featuring model RaRa, a long time muse of Peters, were shot around our hometown city, Melbourne. Peter discusses the lighting that he uses at night time, the cameras he will use, how he sets his cameras up, how he shoots them, plus a ‘fly-on’the-wall’ perspective on how he shoots on location. You get to see everything from start-to-end, and how easy it is to do it yourself!
All still photos are non-retouched, straight out of camera.
Special thanks to our stylist, Shiori, and assistant Damon.
Camera: Sony a7rii & Hasselblad X1D
Lenses: Zeiss Otus 28mm f1.4
Lighting: Rotolight Neo 2 & Profoto A1

Hello Peter,
Thank you for this wonderful inspire workshop.
How do you manage people, passers-by during city shootings?
Hi Yves. We keep our team really small to avoid attention, and work really quickly in the 1 place so before too much attention is drawn we can move. If we have anybody innapropriate, we just leave 🙂
Thanks for an awesome tutorial. Really cool to see the stuff we did on the night workshop in use for real! A couple of questions:
Given the public setting, how did you manage outfit changes?
Also, did these images end up on an ad campaign or magazine (is there somewhere we can see the finals?)
Thanks again!
Ross
Hey Ross! RaRa changed in public bathrooms. We were pretty familiar with where we were, so knew of clean public toliets or resturants that let us use their bathrooms.
The photos will be published next week 🙂
