Meika Posing – Pt 3
In this tutorials, Peter goes through posing with the beautiful Meika Woollard. As she has been modelling since she was around 3 years old, you will see how someone who has worked in an industry for so long can only do they are used to, and you will watch how Peter really has to push to get herย into fashion posing – a style she is not used to as she is so acustomed to doing e-commerce.

Brilliant stuff, inspiring.
Meika! Love to see you work togheter again. She is awesome!
Yes, please do more of this fashion posing.
I found it very interessting to see a “cute” model making this awkward poses. The last video i was like “wow!”.
Do you think it would work with a calmly model like Julia?
Or ist there any kind of character that is more suited for this awkward fashion style?
Biggest respect for how you teach models. Even i was moving my head top-bottom bottom-top while you talked about it ๐ ๐
With love from Ger

Thanks so much Martin, glad you enjoyed it. E-commerce models are very hard to do fashion with, and Julia is also not a fashion model so I think she would struggle with fashion posing, she is more a lifestyle model
Thanks Peter for the link. Does your box have an internal cross bracing to support weight like in a plyometric exercise box? (Something like this https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1003/0452/files/Wood_Plyo_-_Additional_Image_8.jpg?v=1578068716 )
Yeah it does have a frame in it, but as long as you’re using thicker wood it should be okay
Also, did Bec help you build those boxes? (I remember seeing how she didn’t like using the nail gun and the table saw when you were building the wall.)
Nah the box was build well before I started, plus yeah I really hate power tools haha
Best vid youโve done this year. Much appreciated!
Thank you so much
Amazing video…. thanks for doing it…. looking forward to seeing more of your “fashion” work.
Thanks heaps Kelly
Hi Peter! The tutorial was great again. I had a question about that posing cube. Did you make it yourself? Was it difficult to make? (Inspire video idea ๐ )
Thanks so much, yes I did make it myself. I’m not planning on making a new one but there are heaps of YouTube videos you can learn from ๐ here’s an example of how you would build it, just make it bigger https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPpaXCMgv5o
Loved this one Peter, brilliant!
This was brilliant! So nice to see you work with a young model and talk her through the differences between “fashion” and other posing. Please do more of this!!!
love
Super excited to see more fashion stuff in 2021 after seeing this video! Meika just seems to pick everything up so fast. The two of you could never make enough videos
Looks like a great workout session – fun to watch. Love the odd high fashion style poses. Thanks for tips on un-usual use of clothes and accessories with the tutu!
Thanks heaps Frank. It is a bit of a workout, most models say they’re feel like they’ve been to the gym after a fashion shoot ๐ glad you found the tips from this useful
Hi Peter!
Brilliant video! I love how you break things down and really take your time explaining concepts while you are working. I know you like to slow things down and have a chat and connect with your models personally. I would like to do the same. How much time would you say you book a model for , including and allowing for time to get the model comfortable? Just curious how long a typical personal Peter Coulson session is? Many thanks,
Ted
Hi Ted, thanks so much, so happy you enjoyed this tutorial. Every shoot is different, sometimes I click with the model really quickly and sometimes it takes longer for them get comfortable and get used to the way I work, my first shoot with someone can be anywhere from 2 hours or sometimes up to 4 hours. Sorry I can’t be more specific ๐
Putting fun / playfulness into photography. Definitely not boring. Thank you both for sharing these.
Wow! So impressed. Incredible how you got her to let go and get out of her head. The shapes are so different. Realise now that Iโm not pushing beyond those safe shots enough.
