One Set-Up, Lots Of Looks Pt 1
Peter’s clients love his ability to work fast, and give them a variety of looks. In these tutorials he shows you how he does that – by building a set that can be shot from all angles with the same set up, and still provide stunning photos from any direction adn a range of diversity in the looks.

Really enjoyed this video, amazing what you were able to get with this lighting setup. I have a small space but will try something like it for fun.
Cheers.
Thanks so much, we did another shoot similar to this with a smaller set that might help you, here is the link https://inspire.peter-coulson.com.au/workshops/photoshoots/teisha-editorial/teisha-editorial-set-up 🙂
Another killer tutorial. Love how you work one setup to achieve so many great looks. It keeps the focus where it belongs, on the model and the image, not on the equipment. Quick question – you’ve done so many great shoots with RaRa. Is this shoot for a client, or to update RaRa’s portfolio, or to demonstrate for your followers? Just curious.
Thanks so much, it makes my life easier having one set up and it’s what allows me to work so quickly 🙂 this particular shoot was for RaRa’s folios & to film a tutorial.
great session!
Peter – Whats the name of your BOOM Arm that holds your fill ?
Great Work as ALWAYS !
Thanks Leon
Thanks heaps Leon, it’s the Manfrotto megaboom
LOOOVE THIS
Are you using a prime 50 mm lens ?? Or 85 mm?
I was using a 100mm which is about an 85mm on a DSLR
Thanks.
I have a question slightly unrelated to the lesson, but when you said you’ve been working with each other for 8 to 9 years. I have a model I’ve been working with for about 4 years and the number one comment I get is, “You seem to have a lot of the same model.”
Have you noticed or seen if having a lot of the same person is bad for clients to see, “oh he just shoots the same person over and over must not work well with others” or would they really understand that’s my muse/test dummy lol. That’s who I use when I just want to create or test new techniques or ideas.
I guess my nutshell question is, are there any pros or cons or neither to working with the same model time to time? As far as attracting clients.
Nah no pros or cons, just shoot with who your comforatble and get your look 🙂 if anything it’s easier workng with the same person over and over because youre going to get a more accurate look, plus you grow more comfortable around each other
I’ve been working toward Video , I bought an LED Flat Panel just for that purpose. Also every time I see Pictures of RaRa I see something different. She can get different looks to the point where it does not even look like her, similar to what some of the top movie stars do aka Charlize Theron she looks like a different person in each movie. (Granted there is Hollywood makeup). Now all I need is to find a Clapper Board girl for my first Video someone with dark hair 5’11 tall …
