Evelyn’s portfolio-training shoot – Part 3

Evelyn came to the studio for a shoot to update her folio to get it away from looking very e-commerce heavy, which then turned into a re-training shoot to get her away from the e-commerce she’s been doing and also Peter working to get her in the right headspace to creating awesome images again.

From watching this I came to the realisation that when I am working with models I often get my best shots when I am closer to them… so that I can manage the chemistry more naturally. Shooting is a lot like flirting and you can do that better when you are close and more relaxed. I’m forever dropping my camera so I don’t have to talk through it. That too warms the model up to be more natural. Stuff you know Peter, but I thought I’d note it mostly so that I remind myself of what has worked for me. I’m also biased to using the smallest possible gear… I get better shots on a Q3-43 than I do with a big camera and zoom.
