What settings did you shoot at. We shoot at the beach alot and well lets just say that exposure is a problem and harsh shadows.
Hi Donna the camera settings have no effect on harsh shadows, its sll to do with the direction of the sun, if you watch this video again you will notice I mainly across the beach left and right and not straight out to the sea or straight back to the sand dunes. This is because the sun at this location was running across the beach, so I always put the sun into the models face or into her back using the sand as a massive reflector. Hope this helps
These pictures show how the horizon doesn’t have to be horizontal to make a great image, contrary to the view of camera club judges. Luckily we can ignore their narrow mindset.
