How To Get Better At Photography
In this session Peter talks through his philosophy on how to train your eye and practice your craft to make your work yours, and to get your style into your own photography. Through playing around in the studio and creating story boards, this is how Peter has created his own look over 20+ years, and in this video he explains how he got to that point and how you can evolve your own photography.

A very good summary of a good approach to photography that can be applied to many things in life!
Thank you
great video and it help to think about the little things – getting the head in the right direction
Glad it was helpful Martin
Great rant Peter, pick a subject and just shoot till you wear out the shutter on the camera and build a darkroom or buy a printer and learn to print your own work.
You will never run out of things to do next.
Were all to worried about what other people think.
Just my 2 cents
Martin
Thanks heaps, yes just shoot what you love
Great session Peter. You hit on a few points that ring loud with me. I just want to be free to enjoy what i do and feel comfortable with that. This helps as a great sense check. Thank you.
Thanks heaps Ron, happy it was helpful for you
Nice take on AI. I still think it will kill the human race, but I will be dead by then… Meantime my photography keeps me happy, for all the reasons you state.
Your rants are always welcome, Peter! I’ve been thinking a lot lately about life, the universe, and everything, so the timing on this one is perfect.
I shoot photos because I enjoy shooting them.
I love working with the models, trying to get them to show me their real faces.
Looking at my photos brings me joy.
If the models or their families like my photos, that’s even better.
That’s awesome Keith glad you enjoyed it
Great advice!
Well said. I watched you use the storyboard and finally figured out that my Lightroom cloud version would be the perfect avenue for me to use that way. Never could figure out a use for the program. I love using it now. I have it with me all the time. I have used it to promote my services several times now. Thanks for sharing your life of photography. It is very helpful!
Great stuff, Peter! And some awesome reminders.
Peter, thanks for this video! Your comments about AI were perfect and consolidated all of my thoughts about the AI process and results into two sentences. Keep up the good work! Now I’m off to check out my golf bag…
I’m writing a summary of your tips, and I find that they help me not only for photography, but for any other activity. Thank you, I’m going to put them into practice.
Thanks so much Felix
