Recreating Light With A Small LED – Retouch
In this tutorial with Bec, Peter recreates the lighting from an old photo he found with Angelina Jolie. The photo he had saved was not the original and had a lot more contrast in it, which Bec really liked. To start, we did the shot with added contrast before Peter decided to put his own spin on it. For this tutorial, we only used a small LED which can be found here. This is followed by a retouch.

Hi. I’m relatively new subscriber. Great platform so far. Do any of your tutorials detail how you set up your dodge and burn layers? It looks like you use 3? I was having a hard time following exactly how yous et up the layers and if you had layer masks on them. You also switched back and forth between white brush and black brush several times. Was that for a layer mask or are you using white for dodging and black for burning? Thank you.
Hi Michael, yes I have a video on it here https://inspire.peter-coulson.com.au/workshops/retouching/introduction-to-photoshop/dodge-burn which I hope helps explain how I set them up. If you need further help with it please let me know, thanks heaps
