My Favourite Shoots Pt 1
Peter often gets asked what is his favourite picture he has taken, which he says is like being asked ‘which is your favourite child?’ – he can’t pick just one. So in this two part chat, he goes through all of his favourite shoots & photos he has taken over the years and why they are special to him, whether it was something that happened on the day or that he can’t believe he was able to capture a certain expression. Most importantly, Peter wants to get across that your photography should be about taking photos for yourself that you love.

Still waiting on that Peter Coulson coffee table photobook to come out!
Dont do a GRR Martin on us. 🙂
The first images I ever saw from you were of a model Amy Lee? And Alice. I remember thinking they were amazing and that I wanted some day to be able to produce photos that looked that good. I remember googling trying to find the source of the images and trying to find out who the photographer was and all these years later your still my favourite photographer and one of the few inspirations for me.
Out of all the models I’ve seen you shoot with two stand out to me and are my favourites. Shay and Meika.
Meikas face shape and eyes just make amazing photos and I would love to photograph a model with a similar look.
Shay is something else, she has an energy/vibe and rawness that is very hard to describe I’d look at the videos of you when your doing a shoot with her where your movie g about the place taking shot after shot and every frame looks amazing.
Thank you, and yes, we’re still doing a book. We’re just trying to find the right printer that’s not based in China.
When there is trust, magic can appear in the lens and you captured that trust!!!
Magic, easily one of my favourites.
A wonderful insight to the thinking behind the image.
