Shay Lounge Shoot In Paris

While in our awesome Airbnb in Paris this summer, Shay called in for an editorial shoot for Peter to submit to some of the magazines we have been working with. He kept the styling very casual and grungy to tell the story and give the emotion that this is Shay just lounging around in her apartment.

Click here to see the final images from the shoot.

  • Hey Peter, Great video (as always). I was just wondering if sometime you might touch on the process of submitting images to a magazine? What are things to look for, good or bad, when submitting? Do you create a text/story to go with the images, or do photos speak for themselves, etc? Thanks!

  • Love the feel of this shoot and the final images. I think many models that I have worked with would really struggle to pose with the freedom shown by Shay, with a few rare exceptions. Even professional models that I have worked with often haven’t had the right attitude to understand a brief/moodboard and deliver this kind of apparently effortless expression and artfulness.

Hi Peter (and Bec, I assume you are reading this :)),

I just noticed I had been billed for another year, so I thought I would take a look again. The whole of last year I don’t think I saw you and Bec at all.
Today, I have looked at the Shay stuff, I nearly worked with her in Paris; her style blows me away.
You seem to have returned to ‘Covid Peter’, this for me is awesome.
I could say I was doing a Kendo thing (train for five years correctly, the five years cutting just how you want), really you just got on my tits 🙂
The only change I have seen, in your photography, today is you have started to like ‘Look-away’ shots.
I am happy to see my way and your way concur with regard to post – eyes first and foremost, software last and least. I take pictures that I like – in my case only using post to correct my technical errors or to make the images closer to what I saw when I pressed the shutter, but it is nice to see what I do coincides with an internationally renowned photographer – ask my models… the are sick of hearing your name 🙂
So, for better or worse, I’m back (My AuADHD unmasked).

    Cheers,

    Richard
