Low Key – Shoot Pt 2
In these tutorials, Peter walks you through his approach to creating low key images. He first builds a lighting set up using a large light source and then brings in modifers to really shape the light to his taste. After two styling changes, he then shows you how he does low key with only natural light.

Stunning and amazing Peter, I always learn so much from you not just on the fundamentals from a camera stand point but how to get that frame the one that talks and show the expression through the eyes… love it Peter
Thanks so much John, it’s always about the eyes
“Everytime you move, that should make you feel something…change your pose just a little bit so you feel something…”. .not an exact quote but brilliant in its simplicity as a way to direct the model…
Thanks so much Kevin, if the model isn’t feeling something it’s just a pretty picture, and I like my images to be more than that 🙂
This was so refreshing! So often a model brings me an image to replicate and we struggle and struggle. To see someone at your level having the same struggle but more importantly verbalize why it’s difficult (probably not a natural pose for the model) makes me feel better. I get something out of every shoot you share! Thank you Peter
I’m glad you pickicked on this, it’s my pet hate models wanting to copy exactly a pose that doesn’t sute there body shape or muscle tone
Where you are influencing me is the level of detail and to have the confidence to change rigs until i’m happy. Love this video set
