I shot this footage in NYC Times Square, 2016 July. I have put together this tutorial to show you my perspective on the shoot, what I observe and what I learn from Peter.

Awesome Rosie! Keep them coming π
Thanks Colin π
Interesting video shooting in the middle of a big city!
Thank you Nikolas!
Great job Rozie! It’s really interesting to see you and Peter shooting on a location like this. I love that you point out the different lights, model-face versus non-model-face and the other challenges you had to face. π
Thank you for the feedback Anne-Marie π I am really happy you enjoyed it!
Would love to do something like this someday! But WOW… such a challenging situation. Nice to see that most of the bystanders tried to respect Peter and Nicole’s space. I seem to remember when part of this shoot was first posted on Facebook (I think) there was one guy who was really getting in the way and attempting to get shots of his own.
We shot another tutorial last night in Times Square, I cannot way to show you all π
Really enjoyed this Rozie! x
Thank you!
great work Rozanna – for this and some of your Melbourne Street shoots do you require permits. I shot in the Rocks Sydney recently and had to have a permit
As you saw in this video, I don’t use tripods, lights or a large crew so I can do this type of shoot without permits. But if i need to use tripod, lights or a big crew I will always get a permit
Hi, what lens did you use? equals to 50 mm in FF?
Thanks
35mm on hasselblad = 27mm on ff
Thanks!!! I go there in two weeks!!!
And… I see the aperture is not very big, isn’t ? I have Sigma 1.4. Maybe 2.8-3.5 in order to get similar depth? Thanks
yes I was on f3.5
Love this tutorial for itβs honesty and true to life photoshoots challenges. Lots of good take away lessons here – thank you for posting this one Peter and Rosie.
